The Echo Maker is a mystery novel which takes place in Nebraska. After a young man filps his truck in a near-fatal accident, his sister comes to be with him as he recovers from his traumatic head injury. Unfortunately, as he heals it is discovered that he has developed a rare condition known as Capgras syndrome. This brain disorder makes one believe that people are imposters. His syndrome complicates the lives of those close to him and also makes it difficult to uncover the facts surrounding the accident.
